Afro-Fusion is an exciting three-week festival exploding on to the London scene to celebrate Afro-Caribbean culture. It will involve fusing together various art and non-art forms in traditional and non-traditional places. A variety of activity shall take place throughout the festival including free creative workshops, artists known as our ‘Afro-Fusion Buskers’ popping up around London performing impromptu pieces, creative workshops to local schools led by professional artists, a popup cinema screening films and documentaries from the African diaspora with hosted talks a popup museum and an African food and craft market. The festival shall end with an arts showcase extravaganza of dancers, poets, singers etc.
The festival’s main intentions are to celebrate and promote Afro-Caribbean arts and culture whilst at the same time re-examining the transatlantic slave trade and our subconscious view on the continent of Africa as a result.
